You lay a hand on a metal object no larger than a longsword and exert a small, precise pulse of Metal-rifting. Choose one effect: restore the object to a mirror polish, removing tarnish, soot, and surface grime; smooth out a single dent or burr up to a quarter inch deep; or briefly raise a buried marking — a serial number, a maker's stamp, an erased inscription — back to legibility for one minute. The channel does not repair structural damage, alter alloy composition, or affect objects under active magical concealment.
At Higher Levels
At 5th level you may affect an object up to the size of a breastplate. At 11th level you may affect an object up to the size of a small vehicle hull panel. At 17th level the legibility effect for raised markings becomes permanent.
