Identity

The bloodline. Power that arrives unrequested, sometimes unwanted. A Sorcerer channels because the Rift answers them: a Dragonblood scion whose grandsire was a long-dead wyrm, an Aurelion-Marked aristocrat whose Memory-mark contains an ancestor's channeling reflexes, a Mythar Descendant carrying fragments of an extinct civilization's rituals, a Wild Channel born to ordinary parents who simply woke up one morning able to set the air on fire.

Level Progression

  • L1
    Spontaneous Channeling

You know a fixed number of channels (the Channels Known table; tracked in /content/progression-tables/sorcerer-points.json once authored). You cast them spontaneously by spending Channel Points equal to the channel's level. Cantrips are free. You do not prepare channels each day; everything you know is available.

    Innate Affinity

Your Rift-touched lineage manifests in a small spontaneous knack. Choose one cantrip from the Sorcerer cantrip list at character creation; you know it in addition to your other cantrips, and it does not count against your Cantrips Known. The chosen cantrip's school becomes your *Affinity School* — channels you cast from your Affinity School cost 1 fewer Channel Point (minimum 0) once per long rest.

  • L2
    Metamagic

Choose 2 Metamagic options from this list: **Twinned Channel** (target a second creature with a single-target channel; cost = channel level), **Quickened Channel** (cast a 1-action channel as a bonus action; cost = 2), **Subtle Channel** (cast without vocalization or gesture; cost = 1), **Heightened Channel** (one target has disadvantage on its save against the channel; cost = 3), **Extended Channel** (double the channel's duration up to 24 hours; cost = 1), **Distant Channel** (double the channel's range, or double touch range to 30 ft; cost = 1), **Empowered Channel** (reroll up to CHA mod damage dice; cost = 1). You can apply only one Metamagic to a single casting unless a feature says otherwise.

  • L3 Subclass feature
    Sorcerous Origin

Your spontaneous channeling has a source. Choose your Sorcerous Origin — Dragonblood, Aurelion-Marked, Mythar Descendant, Wild Channel, or Bloodline of the Sun. Your Origin grants features now and at 7th, 11th, 15th, and 18th level.

  • L4 ASI / Feat
  • L5
    Surge Pool

Your Channel Points pool gains a small bonus reserve. Add your CHA modifier to your maximum Channel Points (recalculate each time your CHA changes). This bonus pool refreshes on long rest like the main pool.

  • L7 Subclass feature
  • L8 ASI / Feat
  • L9
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option from the level-2 list.

  • L10
    Sorcerous Restoration Capstone

Once per short rest, you regain Channel Points equal to half your Sorcerer level (rounded up), up to your maximum.

  • L11 Subclass feature
  • L12 ASI / Feat
  • L14
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option (4 total).

  • L15 Subclass feature
  • L16 ASI / Feat
  • L17
    Additional Metamagic

You learn one more Metamagic option (5 total).

    Twin Metamagic

You can apply two Metamagic options to a single casting, paying the cost of each. The casting still uses the action economy of the highest-action Metamagic applied.

  • L18 Subclass feature
  • L19 ASI / Feat
  • L20
    Sorcerous Apotheosis Capstone

Your bloodline reaches its full expression. Your CHA score and CHA maximum each increase by 2 (to a maximum of 24 at this tier). At the start of each of your turns, regain 1 Channel Point if you have less than your maximum. Once per long rest, when you cast a channel of 5th level or lower, you may do so without spending any Channel Points.
