Identity
The great Aurelion houses keep their lineage in more than ledgers. Somewhere in the line, a Memory-mark was set — an ancestral imprint of channeling reflex, encoded into the blood and passed down. You are the inheritor. You did not learn your channels; you remembered them. When you raise your hand to call light, the gesture is older than you. You speak words you never studied. Some of the houses say the Memory-mark is honor passed forward. Others say it is the dead refusing to be done.
Features
- L3 Memory's Edge
The Memory-mark wakes in you. You gain the following: • **Inherited Bearing.** You have advantage on Charisma (Persuasion, Deception, Intimidation) checks made in Aurelion territory, courts, lineage halls, or any setting where Aurelion ancestry is recognized and weighted. Your Memory-mark identifies you the moment you speak. • **Ancestral Reflex.** Choose one 1st-level channel from the Sun or Ether school at the time you take this subclass — it becomes your *Marked Channel*. Once per long rest, you may cast your Marked Channel without spending any Channel Points. The casting feels like the ancestor stepping forward through you. • **First Memory.** You learn one additional cantrip from the Sun or Ether school; it does not count against your Cantrips Known.
- L7 Inherited Reflex
The Memory-mark refines your action economy — your ancestor was a fast caster. The cost of the **Quickened Channel** Metamagic is reduced by 1 Channel Point for you (minimum cost 1). If you do not have Quickened Channel, you may learn it now as a bonus Metamagic option without it counting against your Metamagic known. Additionally, the first time each turn you cast a channel using a Metamagic option, you regain 1 Channel Point at the start of your next turn (no more than once per turn).
- L11 Ancestral Voice
Once per long rest, you may spend 10 minutes in quiet contemplation and call up the voice of an Aurelion ancestor along your Memory-mark. You ask one question. The GM provides an answer with the following constraints: • The ancestor knows what they knew in life — facts of their era, persons and places they encountered, secrets of their house at the time of their death. • The ancestor cannot answer questions about events after their death except by inference. • The ancestor may refuse to answer, may answer obliquely, or may answer truthfully but incompletely. The voice is real; it is also bound by the personality of who they were. The answer is delivered in 1–3 sentences by GM discretion. You retain the memory of the conversation.
- L15 Court Presence
The Memory-mark fully announces itself when you speak. You have advantage on all Persuasion and Intimidation checks made among Aurelion society — at any court, gathering, ceremony, lineage hall, or formal venue where Aurelion peerage and protocol apply. Hostile creatures of Aurelion ancestry within 30 ft of you that can see and hear you have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws against your channels for as long as you are speaking continuously (your action), as the ancestor in your voice unsettles them. Additionally, your Aurelion lineage is treated as one rank higher than its actual standing for purposes of social access, ceremony, and protocol — minor houses can pass as major, etc.
- L18 Aurelion Apotheosis
Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you let the Memory-mark surface fully. For 1 minute, you become **Marked** — the ancestor stands at the edge of your channeling. While Marked: • You shed dim golden light in a 20-ft radius; your eyes burn with stellar light. • Allies within 30 ft of you that can see you have advantage on saving throws. • Your effective sorcerer level for the purpose of channel scaling and damage dice is increased by 2 (cannot exceed 20). • Once per round, when you cast a channel of 3rd level or lower, the casting costs 0 Channel Points instead of its normal cost. (Metamagic costs still apply.) • You are immune to the Charmed and Frightened conditions while Marked. The form ends early if you fall unconscious, dismiss it as a free action, or are reduced to 0 HP.
