Identity
The student. Mastery through study, ritual, and recorded knowledge. A Wizard's Channelbook is a record of conversations with the Ether — formulas tested, refined, and bound into ink. Wizards range from Aurelion court scholars to clandestine Drownside thaumaturges to Halcyion archive-keepers who treat formula and prayer as two faces of the same act.
Proficiencies
Level Progression
- L1Channelbook
You begin play with a Channelbook containing six 1st-level channels of your choice from the Wizard channel list. Each time you gain a level in Wizard, you may add two new channels of any level you can cast to your Channelbook, representing study during downtime. You can copy channels found in other Channelbooks, Rift-marked tablets, or arcane records at a cost of 50 credits per channel level and 8 hours of work per channel.
Arcane RecoveryOnce per day after a short rest, you can recover expended channel slots whose combined level totals up to half your Wizard level (rounded up). None of the recovered slots can be 6th level or higher.
- L2Empirical Casting
Close study sharpens your first deployment of new formula. The first time you cast a newly prepared channel within 24 hours of preparing it, you can choose one of: impose disadvantage on the target's saving throw against the channel, or gain advantage on the channel attack roll. Resets when you next prepare channels.
- L3 Subclass featureRiftcraft Tradition
Choose a Riftcraft Tradition — your specialization in one of the seven Schools of Rifting (Sun, Earth, Water, Ether, Arc, Molten, or Metal). Your Tradition grants features now and at 7th, 11th, 15th, and 18th level.

You can cast any channel from your Channelbook as a ritual, even if it does not have the ritual tag, by spending 10 minutes per channel level on the casting and consuming no slot. Channels with a casting time longer than 1 action, channels that produce purely instantaneous damage with no other effect, and channels of 6th level or higher are excluded.
