Domain of Knowledge

A cleric domain for archive-priests, scribes, and researchers — Aurelion record-keepers, Halcyion Tech-Priest catalogers, and Mythar-echo scholars who treat knowledge itself as a Rift-sacrament.

Identity

Knowledge-clerics hold that the universe is a document and that reading it carefully is a kind of prayer. They keep registries. They annotate prophecies. They walk Aurelion archive-spires lighting catalog-lamps; they keep the Halcyion Tech-Priest hymnals current; they sit through Mythar-echo testimonies for ten hours running and write down what was said and what was almost said. Their power flows from the Ether-school, which is where information lives.

Features

  • L3 Blessing of the Archive

**Domain Channels.** You always have the following channels prepared, and they do not count against the number of channels you can prepare each day: • 1st level: **Etheric Hand**, **Veil** • 3rd level: **Etheric Bolt**, **Counter** • 5th level: **Dispel**, **Shift** (You may cast each from your domain preparation when you can normally cast a channel of that level.) **Languages and Lore.** You learn two languages of your choice. You also gain proficiency in two of the following skills: Arcana, History, Nature, or Religion. **Channel Divinity: Knowledge of the Ages.** As an action, you channel an echo from the archive. For 10 minutes, you have proficiency in one skill or tool of your choice, and you treat your proficiency bonus as doubled (expertise) for that skill or tool while the effect persists. You may end the effect as a free action to extend it once more by 1 minute, no additional Channel Divinity use required. This is a Channel Divinity option.

  • L7 Channel Divinity: Read Thoughts

As an action, you choose one creature within 60 ft that you can see and is not protected from divination. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your channel save DC. On a failure, for 1 minute or until your concentration ends (as on a channel), you can read the creature's surface thoughts — words it is actively forming, images it is actively considering — whenever it is within 60 ft of you. While this effect persists, you may use a bonus action on a later turn to attempt a deeper probe: the creature repeats the save, and on a failure you may ask the GM up to three direct questions about the creature's current memories or intentions, and receive truthful (though possibly incomplete) answers. The creature is unaware of the probe on a failure, and learns it was probed by a divine agent (but not your identity) on a success. This is a Channel Divinity option.

  • L11 Channel Divinity: Visions of the Past

As an action, you spend 1 minute in meditation with one of the following: an object you are touching, or the location you are standing in. At the end of the minute, you receive a vision of significant events involving that object or location within the past century (object) or within the past decade (location). The vision is fragmentary, sensory, and not under your control — the GM narrates it. You may extend the vision's reach by spending additional minutes (each minute reaches an additional century for objects, decade for locations), up to a maximum of 1 hour of meditation. This is a Channel Divinity option.

  • L15 Aura of Insight

Your presence sharpens the minds of your allies. While you are conscious, each ally within 30 ft of you who can see you gains a bonus to Wisdom saving throws and Intelligence saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum +1). In addition, allies within 30 ft of you have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation), Intelligence (History), and Wisdom (Insight) checks. The aura ends if you are incapacitated or reduced to 0 HP.

  • L18 Avatar of Knowledge

Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you assume the **Scribe-Avatar Form** for 1 minute. While in this form: you can see invisible creatures and objects within 60 ft, including those in the Ether or in the early stages of a planar Shift; you automatically know whenever a creature within 30 ft of you that you can see or hear speaks a deliberate lie (you do not learn the truth, only that what was said is false); you can read, speak, and understand all languages, including encrypted or magically obscured ones (cryptography of Tier IV or lower is parsed at reading speed); and you have advantage on saving throws against effects that would charm, confuse, or magically obscure your senses. The form ends early if you fall unconscious or end it as a free action.
