Rift Affinity Curve — Full Channeler
curve · full-channeler
Base Rift Affinity values for full-channeler classes (Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Druid, Bard, Warlock, Psion) per design decision D-002.
Levels · 28
Tome XI · Progression Tables
Named per-level tables that classes reference for their Rift Affinity growth and channel resource economy. 12 tables canonized.
Table Type
curve · full-channeler
Base Rift Affinity values for full-channeler classes (Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Druid, Bard, Warlock, Psion) per design decision D-002.
Levels · 28
curve · half-channeler
Base Rift Affinity values for half-channeler classes (Paladin, Ranger) per design decision D-002.
Levels · 10
curve · ki-charges
Base Rift Affinity values for ki/charges-based classes (Monk, Engineer) per design decision D-002.
Levels · 10
curve · non-channeler
Base Rift Affinity values for non-channeler classes (Fighter, Rogue, Barbarian, Pilot) per design decision D-002. These characters still accrue RA through martial mastery and gear attunement — non-channelers can wield Rift-augmented items but cannot activate their full potential the way a channeler can.
Levels · 10
Table Type
curve · full-channeler
Per-level Channel Slots available to full-channeler classes (Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer's slot-equivalent, Druid, Bard). Slot levels 1-9. Levels 1-20 follow the standard d20-grammar full-caster pyramid; levels 21-50 are deferred to D-007 balance work.
Levels · 20
curve · half-channeler
Per-level Channel Slots available to half-channeler classes (Paladin, Ranger). Channels begin at class level 2; max slot level reaches 5 by level 17. Standard d20-grammar half-caster pattern.
Levels · 20
curve · third-caster
Per-level Channel Slots for the third-caster pattern — used by subclasses that grant limited channeling on a non-channeling chassis (Rogue Shadowstalker, similar Arcane Trickster-pattern subclasses). Channels begin at the subclass-granting level (typically class L3); maximum slot level reaches 4 by class L19. Slower than half-caster.
Levels · 18
Table Type
curve · psion-points
Per-level Psionic Points pool for Psions, plus the maximum channel level the Psion can cast at that class level. Psions spend points equal to channel level when casting (cantrips free). The pool is more generous than the Sorcerer's because Psions have no slot-fallback and rely entirely on points; this is balanced against their d8 hit die, light-armor-only profile, and limited weapon proficiencies.
Levels · 20
curve · sorcerer-points
Per-level Channel Points pool for Sorcerers, plus the maximum channel level the Sorcerer can cast at that class level. Sorcerers spend points equal to channel level when casting (cantrips free). Class feature L5 'Surge Pool' adds CHA modifier to the pool but is character-dependent and not encoded here. Class feature L10 'Sorcerous Restoration' adds short-rest regeneration of (level/2 rounded up) points.
Levels · 20
Table Type
curve · pact-slots
Per-level Pact Slots for Warlock. Few slots, but all cast at the maximum slot level the Warlock can currently cast. Recover on short rest (distinct from full-channeler slots, which recover on long rest). Slot level caps at 5 by class level 9; higher-level channels are accessed via the Mystic Arcanum class feature (L11/13/15/17 grant 6th/7th/8th/9th level channels respectively, each usable once per long rest, independent of pact slots).
Levels · 20
Table Type
curve · ki-pool
Per-level Ki Points for Monk. Ki is used to fuel class features (Flurry of Blows, Patient Defense, Step of the Wind, Stunning Strike) and subclass features (Way of the Eclipse's Shadow Step, Way of the Mantra's channel-casting, etc.) rather than channeling channels in the slot/points sense. Monks gain Ki starting at class level 2. The pool refreshes on a short or long rest — Monks are highly short-rest-dependent.
Levels · 20
Table Type
curve · engineer-charges
Per-level Apparatus Charges pool for Engineers. Charges power channels cast through the Engineer's Apparatus and fuel Field Engineering abilities. The pool size is class level + INT modifier (per the Engineer class file); this table records the level-derived portion only.
