A recovered Mythar artifact of unknown specific function — most often a fist-sized polyhedron of dark alloy, edges etched in spiraling Mythar script that warms to the touch but never to the eye. Scholars argue over translation; no two examples render the same text. While attuned, once per long rest the bearer may spend a minute studying a scene, object, or recently-departed person and attempt a Mythar-language Insight check (roll Insight with advantage, plus the bearer's attunement DC modifier as a flat bonus). On a strong success, the GM provides a piece of ancient knowledge relevant to what is studied — a name, a date, an intent, a warning. On a weak result, the bearer hears only fragments; on a failure, nothing comes through but the cold.
