A surgically implanted Rift-channel relay: a finger-length resonator of Mythar-alloy and lattice-grown crystal seated against the sternum, with branching micro-conduits laid along the ribs. The conduit does not store energy; it tunes the recipient's existing channel to a tighter standing wave, letting them push more of themselves through it. The installation itself is dangerous — the surgeon must thread the resonator past an already-active Rift channel without cancelling it — which is why the augment is gated to recipients with some pre-existing Rift Affinity rather than being a path in. The Halcyion Order treats installation as a major sacrament; only a Cathedra-rank Tech-Priest may perform the rite, and the recipient takes a new ecclesial name. Aurelion mystics sometimes accept the conduit as a vow-of-binding. Echelon does not offer it commercially; the few gray-market units in circulation are stolen Federation stock. Mechanical effect: the recipient's Rift Affinity score increases by 1 (to a maximum of the campaign's standard cap). Once per long rest, when the recipient resolves a channel of any level — a spell, a Halcyion rite, an energy-weapon special mode, a Sorcerer-style point spend — they may declare the conduit is firing as a free action, adding +1d8 to that channel's damage or healing roll. The bonus die is the conduit's own resonance and is not multiplied by critical hits. Requires attunement; occupies one Cybernetic Slot.
