A surgical replacement for one or both biological eyes, or — in the lighter conversion — a thin neural overlay grafted to a still-organic optic nerve. The lens stack supports a wider spectrum than human cones, including a passive low-light mode and a deliberately ugly threat-marker overlay that paints hostile silhouettes against the visual field. Halcyion versions are filigreed at the orbital rim and dedicated at the cathedra before fitting; Aurelion court patterns are gold-flecked and conceal the seam under cosmetic glamour; Echelon issue is matte-black, branded at the iris with a serial. The Federation considers binocular conversion a mark of pilgrimage; the Order requires its full-conversion clergy to surrender the irises of their birth. Mechanical effect: the recipient gains low-light vision out to 60 feet (treats dim light as bright light) and, while powered, a +1 bonus to attack rolls made against creatures the recipient has observed for at least one round. Activating the threat-marker overlay in combat is a free action; the overlay imposes disadvantage on saves against effects that flood the visual field with sudden light (the augment's contrast pipeline is cruel about flashbangs). Occupies one Cybernetic Slot.
