Galactic Additions

Setting-Native

  • Decompressed

You have been exposed to vacuum or to a hostile atmosphere incompatible with your physiology. Your tissues are losing pressure, oxygen, or both.

  • Overcharged

Excess Rift Energy from equipment failure, excessive channeling, or hostile feedback surges through your body and gear. Your next action is heightened — and the next reckoning is closer.

  • Surveilled

An external entity — electronic, arcane, or both — is actively tracking your movements, communications, and biometric signature.

Shared d20 Grammar

Standard Conditions

  • Blinded

You cannot see. The world is darkness, regardless of available light.

  • Charmed

A creature has taken hold of your friendly regard. You see them as an ally regardless of any prior judgment.

  • Deafened

    You cannot hear.

  • Exhausted

Cumulative fatigue from prolonged exertion, dehydration, sleep deprivation, or other systemic strain. Tracked in levels, from 1 (mild) to 6 (death).

  • Frightened

You are gripped by mortal terror at the source of your fear.

  • Grappled

You are held in place by another creature's grip — physically grasped, locked-up, or pinned.

  • Incapacitated

You cannot take actions or reactions. Often a precondition embedded in more severe states.

  • Invisible

You cannot be seen without the aid of magical, technological, or Rift-based detection.

  • Paralyzed

You are frozen — conscious but unable to move or act. The body refuses the mind's instructions.

  • Petrified

You are transformed, along with whatever you are wearing or carrying, into a solid inanimate substance — usually stone, but setting-specific variants exist (crystalline lattice, frozen plasma, set polymer).

  • Poisoned

    A toxin compromises your faculties.

  • Prone

You are on the ground, lying flat. In a zero-gravity environment, this is reframed as Unanchored — drifting, unable to push off a solid surface.

  • Restrained

You are held in place by mechanical or magical means — chains, mag-locks, energy bindings, grasping vines.

  • Stunned

You are physically incapacitated by a concussion, stunning toxin, or psionic disruption.

  • Unconscious

You are unaware of your surroundings, cannot move, and cannot speak.
